A week in Sweden

Saturday, May 5th

The next morning, we left Fatou's home at 9.45 to go the Royal Castle where started a visit of the old Stockholm, Gamla Stan. We discovered many things about Stockholm and Sweden :

P5050203P5050205P5050207P5050208P5050212
In order : the littlest statue in Sweden, St George fighting the dragon, the Central Bank, the narrowest street in Stockholm (90cm), the Nobel Museum where the Nobel prices are stored (except the Peace one, in Oslo).

We learned that Stockholm was 800 years old, one of the oldest Swedish towns. The Stockholm islands are growing, about 1cm emerge from water every year. The Gamla Stan houses can be dated thanks to their colors : Red=1600, Yellow =1700, Green =1800.

After that visit, the most part of us went to Mc Donald's to take a lunch. We discovered that there was waste management in the Mc Donald's and that everything was cheaper than in France.

To follow, the Swedish students brought us to a park where we spent an hour and a half before going to Laser Game, a life-size video game with laser guns in a two-floor dark room.

During the subway trip (when I realized that Isaure took the same subway), our penfriends asked us about going to the cinema in the evening. So we accepted and, 2 hours later, many French pupils met in the center in order to go to the movies. We entered in about 5 differents theatres to find a movie not too long and not too expensive (in Sweden, according to the movie, prices defer). Finally, we saw an English comedy, Hot Fuzz (not released in France yet). All the French people said that it was a very stupid movie, but maybe it was because we didn't understand the half of the dialogues. We went back to home at midnight, this was the end of the day.
