A week in Sweden
2 juin 2007

Friday, May 4th

Our trip started in Rennes, at St Vincent. At 2 A.M. , pupils and students met at the Boulevard de la Duchesse Anne's entry in order to go to Paris, Charles-de-Gaulle by coach. This one arrived at 2.30 A.M. , and after the separations between the students and their family (not very moving), a five-hour-trip were waiting for us. Obviously, we had to occupy ourselves : it's not so easy to wake up in the middle of the night and to go asleep half an hour later. So the modern technology helped us :

Thanks to Nintendo, Apple and Sony.

The most part of the students slept during two hours in the coach. We arrived at the Orly airport at 7 o'clock, in order to have enough time to register our luggage, finish our water bottles (not allowed anymore in planes) and "visit" the airport. Unfortunately, the bureaux de change didn't have any Swedish crowns.

Everybody met at 9 AM in the Terminal 31, in which the cameras started to work.

We took the plane at 9.30 AM, half an hour late.

After a two hours and a half flight, we landed in Arlanda at 12.15 AM, the international airport of Stockholm. The flight was faster than expected so the delay disappeared. The most part of us changed their money.
Once there, we met Maria and Marcella, the Swedish teachers. The students who hadn't penfriends were spread in different families, and we took the coach during 45 min. to get the center of Stockholm. The teachers gave us a Stockholm guide, the timetable of the week and a bus/subway card.

We stopped at the central station, in which the Swedish students came to fetch us (their parents weren't there, the teachers told us they were working). My penfriend, Fatou, came later than the other's but they had waiting for us to take the subway. Fatou live at 15 min. of the center by subway. I discovered that she lived in the flat facing the subway stop, and that there was a supermarket at 20 m. that I could see from my bedroom's window. She showed me her flat, and let me rest in her bedroom (that would be mine during a week).

The evening constisted in sleeping and reading, and that is how the first day in Stockholm ended.
